Digital files from BRUSHSTER, 15" x 26.7"
a software painting "machine" I originally developed for the National Gallery of Art. At NGA, input is from fingetip or actual bristle brush on a 55" touchscreen. In my studio, I work on a 24" mouse-driven monitor. I also taught BRUSHSTER how to generatively paint by describing brush: paths, strokes, intentisity, transparency, etc and wrote semi-AI rules for how, when and where to generate marks. In the process of writing and visually testing my algorithms, I found some favorites . . . and continue to play. |
